Resident Evil 4 Remake

2023 PS4PS5Xbox Series X|SPC

Six years after Raccoon City, Leon S. Kennedy is dispatched to rural Spain to rescue US President's daughter Ashley Graham, kidnapped by a religious cult called Los Illuminados. The cult uses Las Plagas parasites to control its followers. Leon fights through a village, a gothic castle, and a militarized island facility. The remake reimagines the story with modernized controls, expanded character development, and new gameplay sequences — including a significantly expanded role for Ashley and a new hidden area. The Separate Ways DLC expands Ada Wong's parallel story.

Carole Quintaine (Metacritic) 100/100

"Here we have the best remake of Resident Evil! Powerful and mastered to the end — this remake makes Capcom's masterpiece even more monumental. The novelties of gameplay further nourish the survival aspect while the atmosphere becomes much more believable and terrifying than the original. An absolute masterpiece."

GGRecon 100/100

"Simply put, the RE4 Remake is as action-packed as the original and keeps to the same sincere vision whilst updating on graphics, controls and all the other modern comforts of gaming. Whatever you come for, be sure to stay for the bingo."

GLHF / Sports Illustrated 100/100

"Resident Evil 4 Remake is the legendary game given more than just a new coat of paint. The visuals and sound design are brutally oppressive, the combat is sharper than a knife's edge. RE4 is back, and it's better than ever."

IGN 95/100

"Resident Evil 4 Remake is a spectacular reimagining that successfully updates one of gaming's most celebrated titles. The additions enhance rather than dilute — this is RE4 as it might have been designed today."

Eurogamer 90/100

"A magnificent remake that preserves everything that made the original a landmark while refreshing it for a modern audience. The knife-parry system alone is worth the price of entry."
