About Resident Evil Requiem
What is RE9 Requiem?
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline entry in Capcom's Resident Evil series, released February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Set in 2018 among the ruins of Raccoon City, it follows DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy and civilian analyst Grace Ashcroft — daughter of Umbrella whistleblower Alyssa Ashcroft — as they uncover Victor Gideon's plan to deploy the Elpis bioweapon globally.
Dual Protagonist Structure
The game alternates between Leon's action-focused sections — combining RE4's over-the-shoulder combat with the Hatchet parry system — and Grace's intimate survival horror chapters, where she avoids the Shadow Ghost, manages blood-collection crafting, and solves environmental puzzles. Both characters share a Synchro Score that rewards coordinated resource management.

All bosses →The Commander
A former Umbrella security chief who became infected with a modified T-virus strain. He retains human intelligence but is driven by a singular obsession: eliminate Grace Ashcroft as the last witness to Project Elpis. He wields a battle axe and heavy armor.
The Girl
A mysterious pale girl in a white dress who appears throughout RE9. She cannot be damaged by any weapon. Her presence triggers environmental hazards and enemy spawns. She is drawn to Grace through unknown connection to Project Elpis.
Chunk
A massive T-Virus infected bioweapon created by Victor Gideon as a prototype defender. It cannot be parried — the axe bounces off. It has a grab attack that is instant death.
Victor Gideon
The primary antagonist of RE9 Requiem. Former Umbrella head of security who executed Alyssa Ashcroft 20 years ago. He has injected himself with the Elpis compound and acts as its host in the final confrontation.
Weapons Database
All weapons →Leon's starting handgun. Reliable mid-range sidearm with excellent ammo availability throughout the game.
A three-round burst handgun and spiritual successor to the Matilda from RE2. Extremely high DPS but burns ammo rapidly.
A pump-action shotgun that serves as Leon's primary heavy weapon from mid-game. Devastating at close range. Found near the Chunk boss fight.
A secondary shotgun with higher ammo capacity than the MSBG 500. Found in the RPD Armory. Fires faster but with slightly less power.
Essential Tips for New Players
Collect Mr. Raccoon Statues
All 25 are required for the True Ending. The statues are permanently missable if you progress past certain chapter locks — particularly the RPD/Orphanage which seals after the motorcycle chase. Collect them on your first run.
Max Grace's Blood Collector First
Grace's blood collector capacity upgrades are the most impactful early investments. A full blood collector means more Hemolytic Injectors — critical for the Chunk encounter. Prioritize capacity over crafting speed.
Parry Everything as Leon
The Hatchet parry works on nearly every enemy melee attack and all boss rush attacks. A successful parry costs zero ammo, staggers the enemy, and creates a 2–3 second counter window. Master parrying in the Care Center before the RPD sections.
Turn On Every Light as Grace
The Shadow Ghost actively avoids illuminated areas. Every light switch Grace finds should be turned on immediately. A fully lit floor significantly reduces her patrol zone and allows near-free exploration.
Use the Shared Item Box
The Synchro Score rewards players who use the shared item box regularly. Transfer items between Leon and Grace when possible — this also ensures neither character runs out of critical ammo at a boss.
Destroy All 9 Plant 43 Seedlings
The 9 Plant 43 seedlings in the RPD and Orphanage significantly weaken the Plant 43 boss if destroyed. They are missable after the motorcycle chase cutscene permanently locks the RPD. Destroy all 9 before triggering that event.
