The Mercenaries mode unlocks after completing RE9 Requiem once on any difficulty. Access it from the main menu Extras section. The mode features 4 arenas playable as Leon or Grace: Care Center Courtyard, RPD Parking Garage, Orphanage Grounds, and ARK Central Chamber. Each arena has a 6-minute timer and a kill-combo system - consecutive kills without taking damage multiply your score. S-Rank on Care Center Courtyard (Leon): Use the Requiem Revolver on The Girl phase, then Alligator Snapper on regular infected. Aim for 12+ kill combo. S-Rank on RPD Parking Garage: Use the W870 shotgun for crowd control, Grenade Handgun for the armored T-103 that appears at 3:00. S-Rank on Orphanage Grounds (Grace): Activate the blood collector before the first wave - Freya's Needle with Burst Mode activated efficiently clears the spiderling clusters. S-Rank on ARK Central Chamber: Both characters available. Leon optimal: Marksman 1A for sniping cores, RPG for wave 3 cluster. Grace optimal: Blood Collector Tier 3 + Freya's Needle full auto for sustained DPS.
