Kotetsu
The Kotetsu is a tanto-style Japanese blade available exclusively through the Bonus Content shop. Unlike every other knife in Resident Evil Requiem, the Kotetsu has infinite durability — it never degrades and never breaks. This makes it the ideal fallback tool for players who want to conserve all other resources, and an essential tool for knife-only challenge runs or the 'Conservationist' trophy (complete the game using fewer than 100 rounds of ammunition). It has the same stabbing animation as the Hunting Knife but with a larger blade model and marginally higher power. In emergencies, an infinite-durability knife is a reliable tool for finishing downed zombies without spending ammo. The Kotetsu is named after a famous Japanese swordsmith of the Edo period.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Kotetsu really never break?
Correct — the Kotetsu has infinite durability and never degrades regardless of how many times it is used. This makes it unique among all knives and melee weapons in Resident Evil Requiem. Only the RPG-7 and Kotetsu have no durability constraint in the game.
Is the Kotetsu worth 5,000 CP?
Yes, especially for second playthroughs. Having an infinite knife from Chapter 1 significantly reduces ammo pressure throughout the game, allowing you to finish downed enemies and open boxes without burning ammo or consumable knives.
